In June this year I had the privilege of attending the inaugural Spaghetti Cinema conference/film festival in Luton. Organised by Dr Austin Fisher at the University of Bedfordshire, the event brought together scholars and connoisseurs of popular Italian cinema under one roof to discuss the Italian Western.
In anticipation of next year's event, which will be focusing on the Italian horror film, read my review of June's in the latest issue of the Journal of Italian Cinema and Media Studies.
A few months ago I was asked to contribute a last-minute chapter to the book Merchants of Menace: The Business of Horror Cinema, edited by Richard Nowell.
This week I was told that the book will be out in paperback, hardback and e-book from Bloomsbury in April 2014.
Leading international publisher Bloomsbury confirmed this week that it will publish a collection I am co-editing with Shaun Kimber, Neil Jackson and Tom Watson: Snuff Real Death and Screen Media (2015).
